Whooshkaa was one of the first podcast hosts to be independently audited and certified by the IAB, meeting the industry standards for podcast and podcast advertising measurement.
Accessing Whooshkaa Insights
Sign into your Whooshkaa account, select Insights from the side menu on the left. The default view of the Insights screen is a pre-filtered list of the latest 30 days of data.
Filtering Whooshkaa Insights
The default view loads with the latest 30 days of data and all of your shows. Please note that this data may be different from the data that you see in your show and episode listens summaries as it is date filtered by default. That is, the total numbers displayed in Insights tomorrow may be different from the window of data slides.
To further filter your data, you can click the "Filter" button located at the top-left of the screen. That will enable a filter panel with which you can control the date range of the filter (which may depend on your license type and entitlements) as well as show categories, specific countries (Locations), and furthermore specific shows and episodes.
Clicking the "Refresh Charts" button will apply the filter and update the view.
Note on Date Ranges
Please note that depending on your plan, additional date filters may be applied according to your date range limitations, due to the available data window for the plan.
Switching between Graph and Table view
You may view details of the specific metrics by switching between the Graph view and the Table view. The tabular view may be easier to process and compare. The Table view will also make it easier to copy-paste the data into a spreadsheet.
Depending on your entitlements and plan, you may be able to export the data into a Microsoft XLSX format for further processing with spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Insights dashboard breakdown
Please note that all of the data is filtered using the filters in the section above. In some cases, the data itself may be further filtered if the particular graph or statistic does not support a wider range of dates, or if it does not apply.
The Overview tab is available to all plans and displays a great summary of information about the listening behavior of your shows and audiences.
This section displays information about your listens for the filtered period. Please note that depending on your plan, additional date filters may be applied according to your date range limitations.
Total Listens - the number of unique listens that have occurred in the filtered period, on the filtered range.
Listens Per Day - the average number of total listens for the filtered date range
Busiest Day of the Week - on average, the day of the week that received the most listens
Busiest Day - the specific date that received the most listens in the period
Total Listeners - an estimate of the number of individuals that the listens were comprised from (Note: This is an estimate that may not use the full range of the date filter)
The Listens chart shows a breakdown per month, day or hour (depending on the selected period) of the data. You may further hover (or tap) the bard in order to see the specific values.
Location, Top Countries and Top Cities
The world map chart displays the countries in which the most listens arrived from and how many. This will give you a geographic overview of your audiences.
This map tells you where people are listening. If you move your mouse over a country, it will show you the number of downloads for that specific country.
Important: The location data is an estimate derived from a number of factors and databases. The specific locations will have a rate of error depending on the countries and geographic dispersion.
Underneath the map is a breakdown of the top countries and cities where people are listening.

The area chart demonstrates how effectively you are monetizing your total listens.
There is also a bar chart showing your top shows by total listens and by total ad impressions.
As the name implies, the Episodes tab takes you one step down from Show level. There are three key visualizations on this tab.
This visualization shows your total listens over your chosen reporting period.
Top 5 Episode 28 Day Trajectories
This chart plots the top 5 Episodes (by listens) launched in your chosen reporting period, over their first 28 days.
The best way to understand this chart is with an example.
A typical episode trajectory might look like the yellow or orange line in the example above. There is a rapid uptick in listeners immediately as the episode is released, then after a few days the number of daily listeners “flattens” ie. fewer people listen per day as you get further away from release day.
This chart may help you discover things like:
- If you are releasing on an optimal day: for example, if you release episodes on a Thursday but the “uptick” in trajectory doesn’t happen for 2-3 days it may indicate that your audience prefers to listen to your podcast on the weekend.
- If your chart has an initial uptick followed by a rapid “flattening” it may indicate that your audience considers your podcast time-sensitive and less relevant the further away from the release day they download it.
- If your chart shows steady growth across a significant portion of the first 28 days (see red line above), perhaps you can afford to release episodes less frequently as your content will continue to engage new listeners between releases.
Sometimes simple charts are the best, this is a bar graph that shows your top episodes by listens.
The Listeners tab gives you insight into which days of the week your audience is consuming your podcasts.
You can use this insight to identify opportunities for new releases, such as episode previews, to keep your audience “warm”.
The Campaigns tab contains a number of reports specifically for podcasters running dynamic advertising campaigns using Whooshkaa Campaign Manager.
There are a number of charts relating to specific segmentation options in your Campaigns including the following.
This chart allows you to see the number of impressions served by each segmentation rule in your Campaigns for example the relative number of impressions by device per geolocation.
This report will help you optimize your campaign segmentation.
This pie chart shows you how many impressions have been served in each of the standard advertising spots ie. pre-roll, mid-roll and post-roll.
The Clients bar graph shows you how many impressions have been served on each listening app eg. Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts etc.
If you are running multiple Campaigns, this bar chart lists them in order of delivered impressions.
